It’s the little things.

I truly believe that it’s the little, personal things that make a house a home. Your house can be designed immaculately but if it doesn’t look lived in or have any personal touches it’s really just a very nicely decorated, empty shell.

Here are some little things that have inspired me lately to have in my future home. Those little touches that make you smile.

I really love these jars from Target. They’re only $14.99 and you can put fun, colorful objects, such as these cupcake liners, in to really bring your counter to life.

Now take that same jar and fill it with some wine corks and you have a whole different look. I love the idea of writing memorable quotes or important dates on the corks (see below) to give it that special touch.

And finally, my love of mason jars. I’m going to start stocking up on mason jars because they are such an inexpensive, fun decorating accent. Look at how great these flowers look!

Don’t forget, sometimes it’s the most inexpensive things in your home that become your favorite because they’re the most personal. They illustrate who YOU are, which is so important.
