Today I am so excited to say that I am officially an interior design student! I was accepted to the Art Institute of Washington’s Interior Design program and I could not be more excited about this next stage of my life.
I have a Bachelors in English with a Concentration in Journalism from the University of Delaware and have been in the journalism/social media field for the past 5 years. A few months ago I embarked on a job search and after several interviews I found myself wondering if a new job would really change my level of happiness. Would I just be putting a band-aid on a larger wound?
Earlier this summer a conversation with some friends from high school got me thinking about what I really wanted to do with my life. My friend asked me what I would do if I could do absolutely anything, and without even thinking I said interior design. That instant response got me thinking, why don’t I make interior design my profession?
And so, on the way to what I thought would be a dream by finding a new job, I got lost and found a better one - my true dream. I am so excited to go to design school, and I’m so grateful for the support of my wonderful parents and my friends. Without them I may not have the courage to follow my dreams and live my life the way that I want to. So thank you everyone for your support, and I hope that you follow my interior design adventures on this blog as I learn and grow throughout the next 2 years.
